MACROECONOMICS
The research interests of the group cover a wide range of theoretical and empirical topics in macroeconomics, including monetary and fiscal policy, the open economy and information. Members of the group are affiliated with other research centres and networks including the Nuffield Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Policy (NuCAMP), the Centre for Macroeconomics (CFM) and the Political Economy of Financial Markets (PEFM) Programme at St Antony's College. A steady flow of visitors from academic and policy-making institutions complement the group, making for lively intellectual and social interactions.
The group runs a weekly seminar series with external speakers, plus work-in-progress workshops where faculty and students present their work in progress.
At the end of September, the group typically organises its flagship event, the Oxford-NY Fed conference on Monetary Economics. During the conference, distinguished academics, policymakers, and economists in the private sector engage in paper presentations and policy discussions in a lively and collegial environment.
