The MPhil is a two year programme designed to provide a comprehensive training at graduate level for students aiming for academic or professional careers in economics.

It is possible to apply for admission to an integrated MPhil-DPhil programme. Those admitted will take the 2-year MPhil in Economics, and then progress, without reapplying, to the doctoral programme.

UNDERGRADUATE

Undergraduate Courses

Our Undergraduate degrees are 3-year programmes in which you study economics jointly with one or two other subjects.

B.A. (HONS.) IN PHILOSOPHY, POLITICS & ECONOMICS

PPE students take Philosophy, Politics and Economics in the first year. In the second and third years they may continue with all three subjects, or choose to specialise in two.

GRADUATE VISITING STUDENTS

If you are a graduate student currently engaged in research at another university, you may be able to apply to visit the Economics Department for up to 3 terms as a Recognised Student.

OUBEP

The Oxford University Business Economics Programme (OUBEP) equips future business leaders with the economic thinking needed to understand the external contexts and choices facing business in the modern world. The Core programme is an intensive 2-week residential course in Oxford.
OUBEP also curates online seminars showcasing cutting-edge research from the Department.
