ECONOMETRICS

What can economic data tell us, and how certain can we be?

Econometrics develops the methods economists use to learn from data. Researchers study identification, estimation, prediction and inference, with strengths in macroeconometrics, microeconometrics, computationally intensive econometrics, machine learning and financial econometrics. Their work advances econometric theory and applies these methods to questions across economics.

Many members of the group are affiliated with the Climate Econometrics group, reflecting connections between econometric methods and environmental research.

There is a regular Econometrics seminar with external speakers held on Fridays at 2:15pm in cooperation with Nuffield College.
