My research focuses on the design and evaluation of economic policies to address market failures in the provision of environmental services, with an emphasis on payment for ecosystem services programs, nature-based climate solutions, and emissions trading markets. My recent research examined: (i) the cost-effectiveness of payment for ecosystem services programs in mitigating flood damage, (ii) the optimal structure of payments and penalties to enhance the performance of environmental services programs, and (iii) the interactions between land conservation subsidies and emissions trading markets for afforestation and pollution reduction. I earned my Ph.D. in Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Maryland and B.S. in Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University. More information is available at my personal website.
