My research area is within Applied Microeconomics. During my PhD studies, I have worked on market design problems. Specifically, I have been investigating how the design of education markets affects student welfare and distribution both theoretically and empirically. To perform my analysis I use structural econometric analysis and causal inference techniques. In particular, I estimate preference parameters of agents that determine the demand for schools in a complex environment with capacity constraints, strategic considerations and endogenous peer effects and prices. Then, I use these estimated parameters to generate the results of counterfactual market designs for comparison.
I have received my PhD in Economics from The University of Chicago in June 2023 and joined the Economics Department at the University of Oxford in August 2023.
