Maiwand Nangyal

Maiwand is a DPhil candidate in Economics at the University of Oxford as an ESRC GU DTP Scholar. His research interests span Economic History, Development Economics, Political Economy,  Applied Econometrics and Machine Learning. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Exeter, an MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge, and an MSc in Economic & Social History from the University of Oxford. Prior to his DPhil, Maiwand was an Economist within the UK Civil Service at the Department for Work & Pensions.

He is also the Director of Research at a new data visualisation initiative, Data for Afghanistan.
