Chanelle Duley is a lecturer in economics at the University of Auckland. She is an applied game theorist with research interests in political economy and financial economics. One strand of Duley’s work uses formal models to explore how individuals behave collectively in socio-political environments, including how electoral integrity shapes the transfer of power in democracies, and how nation building policy influences the cultural assimilation decisions of immigrants. Her work in these areas has been published at the Journal of Political Economy: Microeconomics and the Journal of Conflict Resolution, among others. Another strand of work studies emerging financial stability risks in digital finance, including cybersecurity in banking and various issues in the design of stablecoins and central bank digital currencies. Duley received a BCom(Hons) from Rhodes University, and MCom and PhD from the University of Auckland.
