Ashley Pople is an economist at the World Bank, where she specializes in climate adaptation, climate finance, and air quality management in South Asia. Her research focuses on climate adaptation strategies, anticipatory action, and labour markets. She currently serves as a Coordinating Lead Author for the adaptation finance chapter in Working Group II of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Previously, Ashley led the research agenda on anticipatory action at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA), where she developed and evaluated pilots that delivered forecast-based humanitarian assistance to vulnerable populations facing extreme weather events. She holds a PhD in Economics and an MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford.
