Grade 8: £ 49,119- 58,265 p.a. with a discretionary range up to £ 63,489 p.a.
The Economics Department is seeking to appoint an Academic Office Manager (AOM). This is a brand new senior role in the Department, the AOM will lead our established Academic Office, which is currently undergoing an expansion. The AOM will be managing the administrative and operational side of the Department’s academic activities, advising on policies, and working closely with key academic Officers.
The Department has over 440 graduate students (115 DPhil, 180 MPhil, 30 on the MSc in Economics for Development, 27 MSc/MPhil Economics and Social History, 89 MSc in Financial Economics (MFE)) and shares its undergraduate degrees with the History Faculty (History & Economics, with an intake of approximately 15 students per year) and with the Philosophy Faculty and The Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR) for the PPE degree (an intake of approximately 225 undergraduate students per year) and with the Said Business School for the Economics and Management (E&M) degree (an intake of approximately 85 students per year).
With a solid understanding of the wider Higher Education context, the AOM will be proactive in providing guidance and leadership on policies and processes (for example relating to admissions, exams, fee setting) as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the Academic Office, providing oversight for all student-related activities and departmental initiatives.
