Matthew McKernan is a research economist based in the Structural Economics Division at the Bank of England. Previously he received a DPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford in 2024. His research interests lie in Macroeconomics, with an emphasis on Search & Matching, Labour Market Policy Design, Earnings Risk, and Firm Dynamics.
