Victoria Gierok Fosters Interdisciplinarity on the British Academy Fellowship

Dr Victoria Gierok, who received her doctorate in History earlier this year, commenced the British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship in October 2022.

Victoria’s project is titled Inequality, Taxation and Social Mobility in Pre-Industrial Germany 1300-1800. Having solid background in History, Victoria sought to move to the Department of Economics to develop interdisciplinary approach to her research.

Our Department has an established record of fostering interdisciplinarity and support early career researchers; we are delighted to host Victoria for the next three years and support her research. Victoria will be mentored by Professor Stephen Broadberry and will be a part of the Economic History Research Group.
