The Department of Economics at the University of Oxford has been ranked first in the United Kingdom by The Guardian’s latest university league table. This ranking reflects the Department's ongoing commitment to excellence in teaching and research, solidifying its position as one of the leading Economics departments in the world.
The recognition highlights the Department's undergraduate programmes, which combine theoretical and applied economic analysis with opportunities for independent research and exploration of pressing economic policy issues.
Christopher Bowdler, the Associate Head for Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Economics, expressed his pride in the achievement, stating:
