UK macro policy and the cost of living crisis

Michael McMahon made a number of media appearances in October 2022 talking about UK macro policy, the content of which was picked up by various radio stations, and wrote his Economics Observatory article, and a Radio Oxford piece on inflation.

Michael also met with Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer (Rachel Reeves) and other economic experts to discuss the prospects for the UK economy over the next year and what that means for economic policy, both in Westminster and in Oxford. Neil Shearing, Group Chief Economist at Capital Economics, also attended, and provided an introductory presentation looking at the shocks currently hitting the UK economy and how they might play out as we move towards the winter.

Michael delivered a talk for our own 'What Economists really do series on the same subject, the recording is available here.
