We are pleased to announce that Silvia Miranda-Agrippino will be joining the Department of Economics as Professor of Economics.
Professor Miranda-Agrippino is currently a Research Economist in the Monetary Policy Research Division at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. She is also a Research Fellow of the Monetary Economics and Fluctuations (MEF) programme at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), and serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of the European Economic Association and the Journal of Applied Econometrics.
Her research lies at the intersection of monetary economics, empirical macroeconomics, international macro-finance, and macroeconometrics. Much of her recent work focuses on the role of expectations and information in shaping economic dynamics, the global transmission of monetary policy, and the identification of structural shocks. Her publications have appeared in leading journals including The Review of Economic Studies, American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, Journal of Monetary Economics, and The Review of Economics and Statistics.
Prior to her current role at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, she held senior research positions at the Bank of England and previously worked at Now-Casting Economics Ltd, London Business School, and the University of Bristol. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Bocconi University.
We look forward to welcoming Professor Miranda-Agrippino to Oxford and to the contributions she will make to the Department’s research, teaching, and academic community.
