During June we are celebrating Pride month in several ways in the Department, as we wholeheartedly embrace our commitment to inclusivity, and demonstrate our support for the LGBTQ+ community. Join us as we champion equality and diversity throughout Pride month, and beyond!
Our decision to permanently integrate the Progress Pride flag into our logo symbolises our unwavering dedication to equality, diversity, and creating an environment where every voice is valued and respected.
We encourage staff to complete the University’s Equality and Diversity Unit's LGBTQ+ role model or ally training sessions, and collect a rainbow lanyard – and/or a pronouns badge – all of which are available from EDI Officer Sarah Laseke in office 221. We are particularly fortunate that our EDI Officer, Sarah Laseke, is Chair of the University’s LGBTQ+ advisory group!
During Pride we look forward to hosting an LGBTQ+ social lunch on Monday 12th June from 12.30-13.00 in room 2126, which will provide an opportunity for Economics staff and students who are members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community to meet and connect. Everyone welcome!
