We are proud to celebrate six members of our academic community who have been named among the Founding Fellows of the Royal Economic Society (RES).
This new honour recognises individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the field of economics, not only through original research, but also through public service, teaching, and leadership within the profession. The inaugural list of Founding Fellows reflects the depth and diversity of scholarship that continues to shape economic thinking and policy in the UK and beyond.
Among those recognised are:
- Associate Professor Jean-Paul Carvalho
- Associate Member, Ruth Tarrant
- Professor Sir John Vickers
- Professor Anthony Venables
- Fellow by Special Election, Dr Linda Yueh
- Professor Noam Yuchtman
Their work spans a remarkable range, from industrial organisation, international economics, and economic history to the intersection of economics and public policy.
We are pleased to see their contributions acknowledged in this way, and proud of the Department’s continued presence at the forefront of the discipline.
