MICHAEL MCMAHON APPOINTED TO LEAD THE CEPR RESEARCH POLICY NETWORK (RPN) ON CENTRAL BANK COMMUNICATION

CEPR has recently established a new type of research network: a Research and Policy Network, the main aim of which is to build a community of researchers around a particular topic and to ensure that policy issues are considered over a longer time period than is often the case when a single piece of output is produced and then the researchers involved move on.

An RPN consists of 15-30 experts with an interest in a topic of high policy relevance and where academic research and collaboration with policy-makers can have a high impact. It draws its CEPR Fellows and Affiliates from different Programmes, and will also involve others from outside the CEPR for the duration of the Network such as academics or experts in policy institutions.

The Network may open a debate page on CEPR’s policy platform VoxEU and may produce output in the form of eBooks or Policy Insights. It is expected that each RPN will produce one eBook every 12-18 months.

The RPN on Central Bank Communication is led by Professor Michael McMahon working closely with Christine Graeff, Director of Communication at the ECB.
