LEVERHULME EARLY CAREER FELLOWSHIPS

The Leverhulme Trust is pleased to invite applications for the 2019 Early Career Fellowships.

All candidates must hold a doctorate or have equivalent research experience by the time they take up the Fellowship. Those who are or have been registered for a doctorate at any time may apply only if they have submitted their doctoral thesis by the closing date of 4pm on 28th February 2019.  Applications are invited from those with a doctorate who had their doctoral viva not more than five years from the application closing date. Hence those who had their viva before 28th February 2014 are not eligible unless they have since had a career break.
 
A Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship aim to provide career development opportunities for those who are at a relatively early stage of their academic careers, but who have a proven record of research. The expectation is that Fellows should undertake a significant piece of publishable work during their tenure, and that the Fellowships should lead to a more permanent academic position. Approximately 100 Fellowships will be available in 2019.
 
The Trust contributes  50% of each Fellow's total salary costs up to a maximum of £25,000 per annum and the balance is to be paid by the host institution.  The Economics Department will support only research proposals of the highest standard that fit well with the Departments research interests. Expressions of interest consisting of (i) outline research proposal ( up to two sides A4); (ii) up-to-date CV (iii) letter of support from a senior member of the Department who will act as mentor should be submitted to Eleonora.Fulcini@economics.ox.ac.uk by noon on Friday 25th January  for review by the Department’s management team.
