Graduate Scholarships Awarded in 2022/23

We are delighted to announce that for the academic year 2022/2023, 49 new scholarships have been offered to our graduate students; three to MPhil students (including our first Black Academic Futures Scholar), eight to MPhil+DPhil students, 17 to our new DPhil students, and 21 to continuing DPhil students.

Four of the scholarships have been awarded for the first time this year, and we hope will continue in future years. They are:

  • Oxford Heffernan Sinclair in Economics
  • OUBEP Economics Scholarship
  • Oxford Magdalen Graduate Scholarship in Economics
  • David Walton Scholarship in Partnership with HM Treasury

In addition, we received for the first time an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Collaborative Studentship in Economics (in partnership with the National Institute of Economic and Social Research). We actively support collaborative studentship opportunities like this, and we hope to have more of them in the future.

Overall, 76 graduate students in the Department will receive funding through Oxford University this academic year. This is a substantial increase compared to last year's 62 funded students. A total of over £2 million has been awarded to graduate students to cover fees and living expenses.

These awards form part of our continued commitment to providing excellent support to our graduate student community.
