On the 14th and 15th March the Department of Economics hosted two successful events for prospective students who have been offered places on our postgraduate courses in Economics –  the MPhil, MPhil-DPhil, and PRS programmes. Offer holders from around the world visited Oxford for a day full of learning, networking, and socialising.

The day started with a warm welcome from the Director of Graduate Studies, Sanjay Jain, and the MPhil Course Director, Andrea Ferrero. This was followed by an informative session led by our current students, who shared their experiences of the programmes with  prospective students.

We were delighted to welcome around 100 students to the event. It was great to see their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn more about our MPhil programme

Director of Graduate Studies, Sanjay Jain

One of the highlights of the day was a walking tour of Oxford city centre, which gave our visitors the opportunity to explore our beautiful city, and learn more about its rich history and culture. Each  of the events ended with a drinks reception at an Oxford College, where  Department members joined the offer holders, and wished them the very best of luck in their academic journeys.

We hope you enjoyed the day and found it informative and insightful. We look forward to welcoming our new MPhil students in the coming months

MPhil Course Director, Andrea Ferrero

Overall, the event provided an excellent opportunity for the prospective students to explore Oxford, learn more about the courses on offer, and meet staff, current students, and each other!
