CONGRATULATIONS TO STEPHEN BROADBERRY ON RECEIVING THE LARRY NEAL AWARD

Our congratulations to Stephen Broadberry on receiving the Larry Neal award for the  best article published in Explorations in Economic History during 2018/19 at the recent the Economic History Association Conference in Atlanta.

Stephen Broadberry and his co-authors Jean-Pascal Bassino, Kyoji Fukao, Bishnupriya Gupta and Masanori Takashima have been awarded the Larry Neal Prize for the best article published in Explorations in Economic History during the previous year for their paper “Japan and the Great Divergence, 730-1874”, Explorations in Economic History, 72 (2019), 1-22.

In addition,  Stephen Broadberry, Hanhui Guan and David Daokui Li were runners up for the Cole Prize for the best article published in the Journal of Economic History during the previous year for  the paper “China, Europe and the Great Divergence: A Study in Historical National Accounting, 980-1850”, Journal of Economic History, 78 (2018), 955-1000
