The Department of Economics is delighted to announce that Barbara Petrongolo has been appointed Co-Editor of the American Economic Review (AER), effective 1 September 2026. The AER is one of the oldest and most prestigious journals in economics and is widely recognised as one of the core top-five economics journals.
Barbara is Professor of Economics and a Professorial Fellow of Nuffield College. Her appointment reflects her standing in the profession and her contributions to research in labour economics.
