Job Market Recruitment 2022: Associate Professor of Economics (Tutorial Fellow)

The Department of Economics is seeking to recruit one Associate Professor (jointly with Exeter College), during the 2022-23 Job Market.

Applications are invited from both experienced and less experienced researchers who have completed or will be close to completion of a doctorate by September 2023. We are open to considering candidates at the level equivalent to Assistant Professor in the North American market. The University of Oxford uses the grade of Associate Professor for most of its academic appointments. Appointments to Associate Professor can include those at the start of their careers directly from PhD, as well as more established researchers.

We welcome candidates undertaking research in any field in Economics, with a preference for candidates in macroeconomics.

This joint appointment is associated with a Tutorial Fellowship at Exeter College, Oxford, and you will have teaching, supervisory and research responsibilities both at College and in the Department.  The University uses the grade of Associate Professor for most of its senior academic appointments (roughly equivalent to Associate Professor in the USA). We are open to considering candidates at the level equivalent to Assistant Professor in the North American market.

The successful candidate will have an exceptional track record in scholarship, research, teaching, management and administration and will enjoy participating fully in the interdisciplinary college community and life of the Department. In return the role presents a rewarding challenge, and a generous package of benefits and support.

Virtual interviews will be held at the European Economic Association meetings on 12-14 December 2022, and in-person flyouts will take place during weeks 0-4 of Hilary Term 2023.

This vacancy closed for applications in November 2022.
