Research Assistant in Economics

Salary Range: Grade 6: £30, 046-£34,804 p.a.

Applicants are invited to apply for a research assistantship to join the Department of Economics from autumn 2020.  

The post holder will be a member of a research group with responsibility for carrying out research as part of the ERC research project “Monetary Economics and Communication: New Data, New Tools, New and Old Questions”.  The post is full-time and for a duration of 1 year.

The post-holder will have relevant experience to contribute to wider project planning, and will implement research methodologies under the lead of Prof Michael McMahon’s ERC research project.

You will hold a first degree and ideally will be working towards or have the intention to work towards a doctorate in a specialised discipline. You will also possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work with established research programmes. You will have skills including some econometric analysis, data science techniques including textual analysis, Python programming skills and/or experience with survey design and analysis.

This is a one-year, fixed-term contract (externally-funded) post which can commence from Autumn 2020.
