Associate Professorship of Economics

Salary Range: Grade 10a: Salary ranges between £46,336 - £62,219 p.a. plus College Housing Allowance (currently £8,723 p.a.) or free accommodation in College subject to availability

The University is seeking to appoint a full-time Associate Professor of Economics to start in the academic year 2018/19.

The University of Oxford uses the grade of Associate Professor for most of its senior academic appointments. This grade is roughly equivalent to Associate Professor in the USA. Associate Professors are eligible for consideration through regular recognition of distinction exercises for award of the title of full Professor.

The post is associated with a Tutorial Fellowship at Exeter College. Duties will include undertaking independent research and securing funding to support the Department’s research activities, together with teaching and supervision responsibilities for the Department of Economics and the College, and Trustee duties (as a member of the Governing Body) at Exeter College.

Applications are invited from candidates with a completed doctorate in Economics and postdoctoral experience in an academic position from any field of economics. Additionally, applicants should have a proven high standard of research and the ability to enthuse and inspire students at both undergraduate and graduate level through tutorials, classes, lectures, and supervision.

The appointment is for 5 years in the first instance, with reappointment to retirement upon completion of a successful review.

The Department and Exeter College offer an exciting research and teaching environment, and an attractive financial package to the successful applicant.

Salary ranges between £46,336 and £62,219 p.a. plus additional benefits (including a College Housing Allowance, currently £8,723 p.a for Fellows who do not live in the College). Please refer to the Further Particulars for details of the wider benefits package offered by the University and Exeter College, including the combined annual research allowances which – although not part of salary – can be reclaimed up to the value of £4,000 per annum.

Associate professors who are awarded the title of full professor may receive from the University an additional salary payment of £2,700 p.a.

Closing date for applications is 12.00pm noon (GMT) on 8th February.

Interviews are expected to be held over two days, 20th and 21st February.

Candidates must submit applications on-line via Econjobmarket: https://econjobmarket.org/postings.php?posid=4693
