The research of the group focuses on the analysis of resource-rich economies, with special emphasis on public finance, trade and macro development issues. Our interests also cover the analysis environmental and especially climate policies, using modern tools of macro, public finance, international trade and decision under uncertainty. Many group members are associated with the Oxford Centre for the Analysis of Research Rich Economics (OxCARRE) and we work in close collaboration with OxCARRE to support researchers and students working in this field.

There is a fortnightly seminar series with external speakers held in the department, plus an informal weekly lunchtime workshop where faculty and students present their work in progress.

The research has been supported by funding from BP and a ERC grant on the economics of climate policy. For details see
