Research Interests
Summary: Labour economics; the Japanese economy; economics of ageing.
My research is concerned with labour markets and institutions in Japan. I am currently finishing a book on recent changes in labour market institutions in Japan, as well as editing a volume on the Japanese family. My future research will examine the causes of the rapid growth in part-time work in Japan using both case studies and analysis of statistics.
