Most development economists are associated either with Queen Elizabeth House (QEH) or with the Centre for the Study of African Economies (CSAE). There are numerous contacts between these two groups. Below we note with which of these centres people have their prime association. A few people are not attached to either. Everyone is a member of the Economics Department. There are numerous research seminars organised by the two centres, which are each divided into a number of research areas.
The University of Oxford econometrics group is one of the strongest in the world, covering most areas of modern econometric theory and applications. We have particular strengths in macroeconometrics, computationally intensive econometrics, panel data and financial econometrics. We have an active research seminar series and a strong group of research students and post-doctoral fellows.

Oxford has a long tradition of world-class research in industrial organization. The members of the Industrial Economics Research Group engage in theoretical and empirical research on a wide range of topics within industrial organization, including competition policy, auctions, price discrimination, mergers, and industrial market structure. The group organizes a weekly seminar series with external and internal speakers and occasional brown bag lunches for informal research discussions.
