Andrew Zeitlin, currently a research officer at CSAE, uses theory&#45;driven field and laboratory experimental methods, together with the collection of observational data, to study the microeconomic mechanisms of economic development.</description>

 <description>Our congratulations to Dr Johannes Abeler who received the CESifo Distinguished Affiliate award for his paper entitled &quot;Fungibility, labels and consumption&quot;.
During the CESifo Annual Area Conferences, the Committee for the CESifo Prize grants the Distinguished CESifo Affiliate award to a young economist for the scientific originality, policy relevance and quality of exposition of his/her paper presented at the conference. The selection committee comprises three renowned scholars from the area in question and is chaired by the Co&#45;ordinator of the respective Research Area.

 <description>The Andrew Glyn Professorship has been created at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass) to honour the life work of Andrew Glyn who taught economics at Oxford for 38 years until his untimely death in 2007. Funded by a gift from an anonymous donor and a matching fund established by the Provost at the University, the position is to be housed jointly in the Department of Economics and the Political Economy Research Institute (PERI). The Inauguration of the Andrew Glyn Professorship and Recognition of Professor L&amp;eacute;once Ndikumana as the first Andrew Glyn Professor of Economics will be held on Monday, 7th November 2011.
