Best dissertation award

Congratulations to Roberto Bonfatti who received the award for best dissertation at the 2010 Dissertation Competition of The International Society for New Institutional Economics. Roberto is a member of OxCARRE and a Junior Research Fellow in Economics at St John’s College. His thesis, titled “Three Essays on International Trade, Foreign Influence, and Institutions", concerns the relation between international trade and the relative power of those countries involved.

New Institute for Economic Modelling at Oxford

The Institute is jointly funded by George Soros and James Martin who have each generously donated US$5million to fund the institute’s initial programme of research.
