Oxford economics graduate Mark Carney has been appointed as the next Governor of the Bank of England.
Mark joined Oxford as an economics graduate student in 1991 and was awarded an MPhil in 1993 and a DPhil in 1995.
His thesis topic was on the dynamic advantage of competition and he was supervised by Dr Meg Meyer.
