Course Description for 2005
General Information
The intention of the course is to give
students a good understanding of current theoretical and empirical work on the
macroeconomic policy and development of Western Europe, Japan and the USA (the
"old OECD" countries). The
plan is to have 12 2-hour sessions spread across Michaelmas and Hilary terms.
At each of these a faculty member will give an introductory lecture on
the topic, one of the graduate students will introduce a discussion based on one
or more of the leading papers in the field and there will be time for general
discussion.
